OpenScape Xpressions V6.0 Web Client and Extensions

I am very glad that finally, five month after Cycos released MRS 8.0, Siemens managed to release the new OpenScape Xpressions v6.0 R0. I downloaded the new version yesterday and set it up quickly. The Voicemail / Unified Messaging part did not change much from Xpressions v5.0, the feature set is still the same and so is the installer.

New are some add-on features such as:

Web Conferencing

Voice Conferencing

Instant Messanging

Presence Profiles

Web Client

The first video will demonstrate you the new Web Client and Audio Conferencing! Unfortunately I only have a HiPath 3000 and no Dialogic card, so I cannot install SIP Control for the SIP Trunk that is required for the Audio Conferencing.

The other video will show you the new OpenScape Xpressions Extensions, the new CTI extensions for OpenScape Xpressions v6.0. The main focus is on Prensence and Instant Messaging.

*** UPDATE *** I have added a new video showing the Outlook Extensions, to schedule Web and Voice Conferences.

Get the Flash Player to see the wordTube Media Player.

If there are any questions about the application feel free to contact me!

Hi, our company just got this phone system and I would like to know how to import my contacts into OpenScape as well as setting it up to dial contacts directly from Outlook. Can you give me some pointers?!

  • Ben

the simpliest way is via the outlook export. Go to the contacts in your outlook > file > Import and Export > Export to a file > comma seperated DOS >

    save it on your desktop.

Log into the WebClient > Settings > Import > select your file and select Import from MS Outlook [LANGUAGE] and hit import

Thats it for the import, for the click to dial feature you have to download the desktop integration client > Download > Install > Setup Hotkey button > Mark number and press the key

If you want to use the OptiClient CTI let me know.

  • Hello Ben, we order try to instal a Openscape Xpressions v6 and we have some problem with ConApl the message is “do not find the instalation path” we use IP connection with H 3000 and also have a Dialogic board with 4 BRI ISDN but we can not use because we not have licence and the ISDNapl is not instaled. Can you give us a hint? where we go wrong. We follow the step described in the server instalation, and the connection for voice mail is working …???
Do you thing is necesary a diferent kit for instalation on a virtual machine ?

    Best regards,

  • Hello all , i’ve installed xpressions v6 and I have a problem with the logon into the web page of WebClient . I have created a user in the web page of the xpression , but when i try to login to the WebClient with the user created in xpressions admin. web page it dosn’t work … the error is : the authentification server is not available or the authentification has failed.
in Webclient logs it makes an query to the postgreSql database … in the table where it looks for the users is empty .
Can u help with some advices ?
    Best regards,

  • Ben

Hey, the most common fault is that the user you created is not CTI enabled. Via the WebAssistant simply assign the access right CTI Journal to the user. This is the very last flag on the user properties page.

As soon as this flag is set the user is created as user within the postgre db. Hope this helps

  • Thanks Ben , the WebClient is working well thanks to you .
If i can ask u some questions : now my task is to configure the voice conference .. my hardware will be Hipath 4000 and xpressions v6 .. i have one license for sip … and i will use it to connect h4000 and xpressions v6 trough sip trunk.
Can u give me some advices on what configurations will i need to make so that voice conference will work ? the docs from siemens are very POOR in this matter.
    What i know so far is that the “conference.xml” must be modified so that the language must coincide so that the number is assigned for that language in xpr Web Assistant ; then i have to create an ACD (automated guide script) with logical name VOGUE and here i must asign the range of numbers that will be used to enter the conference ;
What i don’t now for shure is in the conapl->media server for outgoing calls ..what ip must be set (the ip of the h4000 maybe ?! ) and the same for incomming calls (this is the xpr ip i think) and for connection of the media server (conapl) to h4000 is needed more license for Sip ? or will comunicate with h4000 through the same sip trunk created allready?
It is correct what i’ve write so far ? there are more config. to do, so that voice conf. will work?
    Best regards.

    Hi,

the latest comments for Openscape Xpressions are from 2010. Are anything newer comments to read about it on this site? Do you have other links for this subject? I ‘m looking for information about Xpressions V2R2.2. Especialy for the Extentions (OptiClient) and also conversion or format (type of device) for sending a fax from a SAP system.
    Thanks

  • Michael

    Hi,

within the manual of the webclient (e.g. http://www1.olcs.com.au/user/Siemens/userguides/hipath_xpressions/OpenScape_Xpressions_V6_Web_Client_User_Guide_Issue_4.pdf) there´s “team view” mentioned which has to be enable serverside: “NOTE: The Team View feature can only be used after the system administrator
has released it.” Well, having all licenses I am asking where to enable this feature?

    Thanks in advance
    Michael

  • Hey! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering
which blog platform are you using for this site? I’m getting sick and tired of WordPress because I’ve had issues
with hackers and I’m looking at options for another platform. I would be awesome if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
